Pottinger, Bart, G.C.B., that in consequence of H.M. 26th Regt being no longer on the Indian Establishment, I shall have to refund to the Audit Office in Calcutta all pay and allowances received by me since the departure of the Head Quarters of my Regiment from Bengal, which I have reason to believe (by the public papers) to have taken place on the 15th of last March. I consequently respectfully beg the kind consideration of Your Excellency.
